More on vacation....

Our Disney vacation went very well. We spent two days in Orlando. We arrived on Saturday around noon, so we headed to Downtown Disney where they have the largest Disney Store ever! They also have Lego Land and we ate at Wolfgang Puck's, yum!
The next day we went to Magic Kingdom on June 1st. We spent the entire morning there. We saw Chip and Dale as soon as we entered the park. The girls had their autograph books all ready. Next we saw Jiminy Cricket (in the shade!!!!) It was so hot that day. We took refuge in many air conditioned or out of sun rides. We had a character breakfast with Pooh Bear and Friends, but unfortunately we only saw Eeore. He was very sweet.

We ventured to Fantasy Land which is the area of the park with the most rides our girls would be interested in. Ally had been insisting that we ride Dumbo first since we got on the airplane the day before. So....we rode Dumbo first. Loved it. I have to say it was awesome, but we all wished it would have lasted longer. Next, we rode It's a Small World. That ride was so cool. I know some people hate it but the nerd in me loved it. And it kept going and going and going. The girls loved it. Ally and Mya reacted differently to most of the rides and shows. Ally would sing along and dance, and Mya would just look at everything in awe and then tell us what she liked about it later.
The day continued with more rides and fun, until Mya got pretty tired and we were all hot and stinky. So back to the hotel we went. Mya kept calling it our new home. She didn't quite understand that we would eventually go back to our home and toys and beds.

We went back that night for character meeting. We met 3 princesses (we met Ariel earlier that day) It was truly magical watching our girls light up talking to "the princesses." I think that experience made it all worth it.
We stayed and rode a few more rides, tea cups included, and finished off the night around 11pm. Not too shabby!!

The next day we went to Animal Kingdom. We arrived at 9 and stayed until about 2:30. We went on the Safari (so worth it) and had another character breakfast with Mickey, Donald, Daisy and Goofy. This was in the African part of AK and this breakfast was terrific. The characters were wonderful, we got pics with all of them and best of all it was air conditioned!! (am I such a baby) No seriously it was fab!!

We also took in the Finding Nemo musical. It was amazing. Mya was a tiny bit frightened of a few parts, but still loved it after it was over. It was really neat how the performers held the characters while they acted. Very well done!

Finally, we drove to the Gulf Coast to meet up with the Batemans. We went to the beach one evening and looked for shells and played in the water and got some beautiful pics. We even saw a puffer fish on the beach.
We went back the next day and had some fun, but Mya wasn't as in to it as she was the evening before. Ally, however, was building a sand castle, looking for shells, and even getting in a little. This vacation was just what she needed. She walked around so much more than she would have if we would have stayed home. I am so glad we went.

All in all, our trip went so smoothly. We all got along, the girls were pretty well behaved, as well as any 3 and 5 year old. We did get bumped from our 7am flight and had to wait around until noon, but it was still a pretty smooth trip!!!
I can't wait to do it again.
